The 28th Annual Meeting and Technical Committee Meeting of the Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP) was held from December 9 to 12 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Xu Jinghe, Chairman of the GHWP and NMPA Deputy Commissioner, attended the Annual Meeting.

　　Ten technical guidelines were adopted upon deliberation at the Annual Meeting. The Meeting also approved applications for membership from Botswana, Ghana, Macao, and Uzbekistan. GHWP now has 38 member countries and regions and 66 technical guidelines. More than 400 delegates exchanged ideas on advancing global medical device regulatory convergence, harmonization and reliance over 4 days.

　　The Ministry of Health of Malaysia and the Medical Device Authority (MDA) organized the 2024 International Medical Devices Exhibition during the Annual Meeting of the GHWP. Dr. Xu was invited to attend and to deliver a speech. Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, attended the closing ceremony of the Exhibition and spoke highly of the work of the GHWP.

　　During the Annual Meeting of the GHWP, Xu had a bilateral conversation with Muralitharan Paramasua, the Chief Executive Officer of the MDA, and had 10 exchanges with related countries and regions and relevant international organizations.
