On December 3, the 18th China Pharmaceutical Engineering Conference was held in Nanjing. Zhao Junning, Deputy Commissioner of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

　　Zhao stated that the NMPA will fully implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, always adhering to the most fundamental responsibility of ensuring drug quality and safety. He emphasized that the NMPA will also uphold a development path that is scientific, law-based, internationalized, and modernized, coordinating development with safety, regulation with service, and order with efficiency to effectively ensure the overall stability of drug safety.

　　Zhao also stressed that the NMPA will conscientiously implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, continuously strengthen its high-efficiency regulation, ensure high-level safety, promote high-quality development, protect public health, and drive China's transformation from a major pharmaceutical country to a stronger pharmaceutical country.

　　Representatives from other countries’ and regions’ drug regulatory authorities, international organizations, pharmaceutical industry associations, academic institutions, and pharmaceutical companies participated in the meeting.
