In late September 2023, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) submitted formal application materials to the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S). On Nov 8, 2023, the PIC/S sent a letter to the NMPA confirming its officialthe applicant status.

　　Following this confirmation, the NMPA will strengthen communication and cooperation with the PIC/S, promote China itself to become a full member of the PIC/S, and take this as an opportunity to continuouslye to improve the country’s drug inspection system and standards, to constantly enhance its drug review inspection quality management system and accelerate to steadily promote the construction development of its inspectors' team, so as to drive the modernization modernize the of national drug regulation in China.
